Educational Excursions at Salwan

To commemorate the birth anniversary of the Father of our Nation, a field trip was organized for the students(SPS RN) to National Gandhi Museum and Library on 19th October 2022

The museum and library situated at Rajghat gave an opportunity to the students to understand and inculcate the values of Gandhiji. The diverse galleries enabled students to reflect and comprehend the contributions of Mahatma in India’s freedom struggle.

The Tree of Honesty and Truth and Children’s Gallery were the central attractions of the museum. This enabled students to walk back in time and understand Gandhiji’s life, ideology and importance of khadi. Students could also understand the essence of khadi and significance of ‘Make in India Campaign’ and how to make it a reality as citizens of tomorrow. The photo gallery hosts all major movements led by Gandhiji in India and Africa.

Students were delighted to see the commemorative stamp issued by the Post and Telegraph Department on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and 75th year of Salwan Education Trust.

“ANUBHUTI’’ _exploring the nature and experiencing the serenity*

Salwan Public School Ghaziabad organised a day and night camp under ‘Anubhuti-a village panorama programme’ for students of Classes V to VII at the school campus on 7th and 8th October 2022. 

110 students along with 10 teachers participated in the camp which aimed at training the students to live independently with enjoyment and recreation by spending time with each other and bonding in a new environment. 

The adventurous programme was full of  various fun activities including Black Pottery workshop conducted by Padmabhushan Shivratan Prajapati from Azamgarh, Workshop on Candle and Soap Making, Chocolate Making Session, Team Building Leadership Activities, Indigenous Games , Bonfire with music & dance, Bedtime stories. Yoga and Meditation sessions were also conducted for the children. 

The Kids were taken for a Nature Walk to make them appreciate and understand the biodiversity. The visit to the organic farm was an educational experience enlightening the students about the various varieties of fruits, vegetables and flowering plants.

All activities were carried under expert supervision by trained instructors using safety guidelines. The programme proved to be a good stress reliever after the Term End 1 exams.

A Day in the Greens – Visit to I.A.R.I (Salwan Junior School, Naraina Vihar)

An educational trip to IARI was organized for the students of Classes IV & V on 20th October 2022. The students were taken to see the crop fields and agronomic practices pertaining to different Kharif season crops like cereals and legumes. The trip to IARI began with a visit to the Integrated Farming system module. It consisted of the fishery, Duckery, poultry and apiary along with fruit trees, different types of vegetables, and cereal crops. The scientists explained to the students about the importance and benefits of integrated farming in making the farmers self-reliant. Students also witnessed Biogas Plant which provides methane gas for cooking and lighting their homes. Overall, it was a great learning and inspirational experience for our students.

Neoteric Session  –

Mr. Gabe Gabrielle, motivational speaker and Former Engineer at Kennedy Space Center, NASA visited Salwan Girls sr.sec.school on 18th October 202022

Mr. Gabe introduced neoteric events to our children and shared information in relation to the exploration of space.

It was an interactive session which aimed at providing children exposure to space education. Mr.Gabe inspired children to pursue their dreams and passion.

Mr.Gabe had an amazing experience as an Engineer Programmer which gave him access to everything on Kennedy Space Center – Launch Control Centres , Launch Complexes, Vehicle Assembly Building, Mars Simulation Testing Area to mention a few. Mr.Gabe shared his journey at Kennedy Space Center with our Young innovators and showed them rovers and satellites. The session  was so amazing as it ignited a spark in our children.

Visit To Gandhi Memorial Museum

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and part of experiential learning, students of Class VIII had the opportunity to witness the display of a rich collection of original relics, letters belonging to the father of the nation. Students were enlightened about the most notable items in the collection, such as Satyagraha woodcut by Willemia Muller Ogterop, one of Gandhi’s walking sticks, the shawl and dhoti worn by Gandhi when he was assassinated, one of the bullets that was used to kill Gandhi and his urn. Students also learned about the important events related to the National Movement and related their experience with the knowledge they had gained in their classroom lessons. The relevance of Mahatma’s teachings was debated by the students.

Lok Sabha Visit by NADT Winners

The School Principal Ms. Rashmi Malik, along with one of the winners of “Desh Aur Hum”, Trisha Jangra, the teacher in charge Ms Ramanjeet Kaur and  the group of students, was invited to visit the parliament, by  the event  organizer National Academy of Direct Taxes on 20th October 2022. 

 The objective of the visit was to make the students understand the working of Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha. It was a momentums occasion for the students as the country is celebrating the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, 75 glorious years of our Independence.
