Salwan Education Trust, in its endeavour to provide young golfers a platform for nurturing their talent and generating a pool of talented golfers, right at the school level, has been organising ‘Salwan Golf Championship’ since 2014 at ITC Classic Golf Resort and Country Club, Manesar. The Golf Championship provides amateur golfers an opportunity to nurture their talent. It has opened a new avenue of Sports at School Level. It acts as a stepping stone to National and International tournaments. Talented golfers create history at the golf course as they display exemplary skills, unparalleled focus and consistency. The winners of the Championships in the past have achieved extraordinary feats already.

To carry on the legacy of promoting sportsmanship, Salwan Public School Gurugram, under the aegis of Salwan Education Trust, organised Sixth Annual All India Schools Golf Championship recognised by Indian Golf Union (IGU) and ranked by World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) from 10th January to 13th January 2023 at ITC Classic Golf Resort and Country Club. The Award ceremony of the tournament was graced with the presence of Hon’ble Chief Guest, Sh. Ajay Bisaria, Former Indian Ambassador to Canada, Pakistan, Poland and Lithuania. The Guests of Honour on the occasion were Sh. Sarandeep Singh, former Indian Cricketer and National Selector and Sh. Rajat Sethi, General Manager, ITC Classic Golf Resort and Country Club, Manesar.

The tournament had one of the largest participations of young golfers. Approximately 100 children under the age of 18 (boys and girls) participated in the championship with great enthusiasm and excitement. The Tee Off ceremony was graced by Lt Gen M K Mago, AVSM, YSM, SM (Bar); Sh. Harmeet Kahlon, Arjuna Awardee, Golf Coach and International Golf Player, Asian Tour Winner and Brigadier Umesh Singh Bawa, Vir Chakra, Kargil War. The event was attended by Directors and Principals of the participating schools, as well as enthusiastic students from various schools to cheer the participants.

The winners of the different categories in the Championship were awarded trophies and certificates by Chief Guest Sh. Ajay Bisaria, Hon’ble Chairman Emeritus Salwan Education Trust (SET) Sh. Shiv Dutt Salwan and Hon’ble Chairman SET Sh. Sushil Dutt Salwan.

  • YOUNGEST PLAYER – Dhriti (6 years old)

The event was highly appreciated by all dignitaries and guests. It gave a platform to the young participants from different schools to compete with each other and make a mark in the world of young golfers.
