Bhartiya Bhasha Diwas

On Wednesday, 06 December 2023, twenty-nine class X students of SPS MV were felicitated by the ‘Hindustani Bhasha Academy’ at Talkatora Stadium, Delhi. Prizes were awarded to students scoring 90% and above marks in the Hindi language in class X CBSE Examination for the session 2022-2023. Two teachers Ms. Meenakshi Arora & Ms. Shashi Kharbanda of Hindi department were also felicitated for their excellent efforts. 

Honourable former president Shri Ramnath Kovind ji graced the occasion with his presence and addressed the gathering with his valuable words and briefed students about the importance of Indian languages such as Hindi, Sanskrit etc. This mega event included the celebration of ‘Bhartiya Bhasha Diwas’. It was a motivating and enriching experience for both students and teachers.

Delhi State Championship Organised By Sysa

After winning positions at the District level, held in September 2023, five students of SPS MV qualified for the 21st Delhi State Championship, organised by State Yoga & Sports Association (SYSA) on 03 December 2023 at Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education & Sports Sciences (IGIPESS), Vikas Puri.

In this championship top three participants in each Category qualified for the National Championship, Dev Kumar of class IV secured first position in the boys U-14 category, and Lakshya of class XI earned 2nd position in the boys U-18 category. The two players qualified for the National Championship that was held from 27th to 29th December 2023 at Sidhu Kanu Stadium, City Centre, Durgapur, West Bengal. They have been placed in the top ten National players from the Delhi region.

Founder’s Day

SPS MV, celebrated its 82nd Founder’s Day on Tuesday, 05 December 2023, honouring the 122nd birth anniversary of Pt Girdhari Lal Salwan Ji, the founder of Salwan Education Trust.

The event was graced by Shri Bharat Salhotra, Chairperson SPS MV, Shri Siddharth Sathenapally, Managing Committee Member, Shri Rajeev Maikhuri and Shri Shashi Bhushan, PTA Members, Maj Gen Ajay Khandpur (Retd.), Director SPSMV, Capt Richa Sharma Katyal (Retd), Principal, teachers, and other staff.

The day commenced with a spiritually charged Havan ceremony, followed by a special assembly offering prayers and the soul-stirring Salwan Song, reflecting shared values. Students paid homage to Pt. Girdhari Lal Salwan Ji’s visionary spirit, through poetry, and an engaging talk on his life and contributions. The event showcased a spectacular dance performance, blending Kathak and Bharatnatyam, symbolising the school’s devotion to preserving traditional dances and celebrating cultural heritage. In a heart-warming gesture, a Langar was organised for the MTS staff, fostering a sense of inclusivity and community spirit.

Science Fair

The Science Department at SPS MV, organised a ‘Technology to Toys’ fair, on Saturday, 02 December 2023. Students from classes IV to IX participated enthusiastically, showcasing a diverse range of models. The exhibits featured water purification systems, wind turbines, earthquake detectors, hydraulic cranes, kaleidoscopes, giant wheels, pH level detectors, automated irrigation systems, hydraulic bridges, electromagnetic trains, geostationary satellites, obstacle-avoiding detectors for the visually challenged, working models of the heart and robotic hands, among others. Students from classes IV-IX were guided to witness the exhibits. Teachers from various departments praised the students’ efforts during their visit. The Director, Principal, Vice Principal, and Headmistress of the school also visited the exhibition and showed keen interest in understanding the concepts. They applauded the efforts and contributions of the young minds in the field of science and technology.
