This association was undertaken under the guidance of the British Council in alliance with the Birmingham Education Partnership (BEP) and the Youth Sport Trust (YST).
The year-long journey involved multiple engagements including class connect, yoga and sports exchange, food and recipes exchange, arts, and cultural exchange with a focus on commonwealth values and themes. It was a great learning experience for the students and staff of the school as they networked their way with other leading schools in Delhi, NCR and the West Midlands.

Stressing the significance of kindness and compassion for sustainable happiness, she outlined the characteristics of a servant leader. These qualities included compassion, nurturing others, understanding the bigger picture, and steering clear of ego-driven pursuits. Inspirational videos on servant leadership and the fundamental secret to happiness were shared, providing students with valuable insights.

Enhancing Education through International Collaboration
Embark on a transformative journey through the Global Curriculum Programme, where Salwan Public School forged deep connections with schools abroad, unravelling the tapestry of global education.
The odyssey commenced in 2009, as Salwan Public School partnered with YSGOL CYNFRAN (Wales) U.K., igniting a passion for global learning. Through seven collaborative projects spanning topics from Clothes to Traditional Sports, students ventured into a world of cultural exchange and mutual understanding.
In 2011, the journey evolved, transcending to secondary education, as Loxford School, London, U.K., joined hands with Salwan Public School. Together, they delved into innovative teaching methods and community-based learning, enriching the educational landscape.
The journey continued with the successful implementation of activities under the International School Award (ISA) program, a testament to both schools’ commitment to promoting global citizenship and intercultural dialogue. Through the ISA program, students from Salwan Public School and Loxford School were exposed to a wide range of international perspectives and experiences, laying the foundation for a deeper understanding of the world beyond their immediate surroundings.
One of the most innovative aspects of the collaboration was the introduction of the duet story narration concept. This unique approach to storytelling allowed students from both schools to collaborate creatively, blending their cultural backgrounds and storytelling traditions to create captivating narratives. The duet story narration not only showcased the students’ creativity and imagination but also served as a powerful tool for promoting empathy and understanding across cultural boundaries.
Throughout the journey, cultural interactions played a central role in enriching the students’ learning experiences. From sharing traditional cuisines to participating in cultural performances and rituals, students had numerous opportunities to learn about and appreciate each other’s customs, traditions, and way of life. These interactions fostered a sense of empathy, respect, and friendship among the students, breaking down stereotypes and building bridges between communities.
In addition to cultural exchange, the journey also provided valuable leadership development opportunities for students. Salwan Public School took the initiative to guide the UK visitors during their stay, allowing students to take on roles of responsibility and leadership. This hands-on experience not only enhanced their leadership skills but also promoted cross-cultural communication and collaboration, preparing them to thrive in an increasingly diverse and interconnected world.
Reciprocal visits became the cornerstone of this journey. Faculty members from both sides engaged in a vibrant exchange of teaching methodologies and cultural experiences, fostering a deeper bond between the schools. Interactive sessions, collaborative projects, and cross-cultural activities illuminated the path toward global awareness and understanding.
Each visit bore fruit in the form of enhanced teaching practices, enriched curriculum, and a broader perspective on global issues. The exchange of letters, video conferences, and joint projects brought the world closer, nurturing empathy, and fostering a sense of global citizenship among students.
As schools continue to seek innovative ways to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century, initiatives like the collaboration between Salwan Public School and Loxford School serve as shining examples of the possibilities that arise when schools come together to bridge cultures and build a brighter future for the next generation.
