A Trip to Mother Dairy

The students of class XI and XII of Salwan Public School, TDSC along with two teachers made  an industry visit to Mother Diary Ltd. This visit helped the students to gain a deeper understanding about different functioning areas of the dairy industry (manufacturing, packaging, grading, storage operation and export import procedure). As a part of activity, it made them aware of the way industries function in local domains and cater to their customers.

Prerna Orientation Session

On a bright morning at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kamla Nehru Nagar, Ghaziabad, an enlightening Prerna Orientation session unfolded. Attended by eager students Lakshay and Lavanya, both from class X, Salwan Public S T DS C,  the session aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world impact.

The Prerna portal took center stage—a digital gateway to experiential learning. Students discovered its potential to transform them from mere job seekers to job creators. Through internships, skill-building modules, and industry insights, Prerna promises to ignite their entrepreneurial spirit.

As the sun streamed through the windows, the young minds absorbed the vision: a society where every learner becomes a change-maker. With Prerna as their compass, they are ready to explore uncharted territories, armed not just with knowledge but with the power to shape their own destinies.

In those brief moments, the classroom became a launchpad—a place where dreams met reality. Chandrayaan 3’s lunar landing was a distant echo; our students were on their own cosmic journey, fuelled by curiosity and guided by Prerna.

Anti-Bullying Workshop on 16th July 2024

Salwan Public School, Trans Delhi Signature City ,organised an Anti-Bullying Workshop on Friday, 16 July 2024, for students of grades III to VIII.   The event aimed to raise awareness about bullying and provide students with strategies to prevent and address it effectively. The workshop was conducted in two sessions to accommodate different age groups, which were led by Ms. Pratibha Malhotra, a consultant psychologist, who provided valuable insights and guidance on the topic.

The workshop covered various aspects of bullying, including its definition, types, impact, recognition, preventive measures, and handling strategies. Interactive activities such as role-playing scenarios, group discussions, and Q&A sessions were included to engage the students and allow them to share their experiences and thoughts. The initiative raised awareness among the students and encouraged them to actively contribute to the prevention of bullying. Instead of being passive bystanders, they were urged to report such cases to concerned authorities, including parents, teachers, and the school counsellor.

"Ensuring Quality": An Educational Visit to the Central Laboratory in Ghaziabad

On Friday, 16 July, 2024, twenty students, along with science teachers, embarked on an educational trip to the Central Laboratory in Ghaziabad. Organised by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the visit aimed to provide insights into standardisation, testing, and quality control. The visit began with a comprehensive presentation on BIS’s role in formulating standards, certification, and testing. The group toured various sections of the laboratory, including the Helmet Testing Laboratory, Wire Accessories Laboratory, Domestic Electrical Appliances Laboratory, Toy Testing Laboratory, and Footwear Testing Laboratory. Each section demonstrated rigorous testing processes to ensure product safety and quality. Interactive sessions allowed students to engage with lab staff, gaining practical insights into the application of standards. The tour concluded with an interaction with Mr. Animesh Srivastava, Head of the Central Laboratory, who answered queries about BIS safety standards. The visit highlighted the pivotal role of BIS in safeguarding public health and safety through meticulous testing and quality control measures, fostering a greater appreciation for standardization processes.

Salwanians Excel in CBSE XII & X Results, 2024

Salwan Public School TDSC, has once again demonstrated academic excellence in the CBSE Board Examinations for both Class XII and X.

Navya Yadav topped Class XII with 98.8% in Humanities, achieving perfect scores in four subjects. Mayank Garg secured 95.6% in Commerce, while Harshit Tyagi and Ananya Jain both scored 94.8%. In Class X, Jeet Kumar led with 99%, followed by Sindhuja Sampada with 98.2%, and Pari Jain with 97.6%. Several students attained perfect scores in various subjects.

Mrs. Sunita Madan, Principal, congratulated the students and praised their hard work and the dedication of the faculty.

Investiture Ceremony

             Empowering Tomorrow: SPS Ghaziabad’s New  Student Council

Salwan Public School, Trans Delhi Signature City, inducted its Student Council 2024-25,   comprising 60 members in an Investiture Ceremony held on Friday, 09 August, 2024. The aim was to propel the students to dream the sublime and contribute their efforts in Nation Building through effective leadership skills. The ceremony was graced by the distinguished alumni of the school Mr. Vipul Gupta (Architect & Miniature Artist felicitated by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India) and Ms. Nyah Indu Raina (Botanist, Hansraj College, University of Delhi).

Speaking on this occasion , Mrs. Sunita Madan, Principal,  motivated and encouraged the students to imbibe in them a sense of responsibility and pride with a clear perspective, to carry forward the rich legacy of Salwan Schools. She  instilled in them that the skills they learn by being the members of student council would aspire them to be future CEOs, Entrepreneurs, Professionals  and risk takers.

On this momentous occasion, students put up scintillating music and dance performances. The members of  Student Council were adorned with badges and ties in a formal ceremonial manner by the Principal and the heads. This was followed by the entire council pledging  to uphold the vision and spirit envisaged by Salwan Institutions and carry out duties with integrity, faith and excellence by becoming the agents of change. Standing with their heads held high, walking shoulder to shoulder, striving towards perfection, the student representatives, vowed to Preserve, Protect and Glorify  the honour of the  school.

The outgoing Head Boy of the school, Mayank Attriz Gogoi, passed the mantle of responsibility and power to the newly elected Head boy, wishing  the  entire senate, success and victory in all their endeavours. With new responsibilities placed on their shoulders, newly appointed senate will be led by Head Boy, Ryan Grover, and the Head Girl, Sindhuja Sampada.

A Peep into The Indian Literature

Salwanians participated in the Inter School Literary Fest, Jonquil, organised at Uttam School for Girls. In an exciting array of events, the students dedicatedly showcased their talent.  Among the many pre-recorded and offline competitions the students of Salwan Public School, TDSC performed to the best of their potential and won people’s appreciation. Little Salwanians, students of class II, won the second award in the event ‘Echoes of Indian Verses’.

Vedic Maths

“Visiting the roots to ensure better future”

The Vedic Maths Workshop was conducted at Salwan Public School TDSC, to introduce students from classes V to VII, to the ancient and efficient techniques of Vedic mathematics. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ mathematical skills, improve their calculation speed, and boost their confidence in handling complex problems.

Mr. Shobhit Gupta, a renowned expert in Vedic mathematics, was the resource person for the workshop. With extensive experience in teaching Vedic maths, Mr. Gupta has a unique ability to make mathematical concepts easy and enjoyable for young learners. The workshop was divided into three sessions, each catering to different aspects of Vedic mathematics and designed to suit the varying cognitive levels of classes V to VII.

Key topics covered in the workshop included basic concepts, addition and subtraction, multiplication, division, with ease. Mr. Gupta engaged the students with interactive exercises to reinforce the concepts taught. Real-life examples and problem-solving sessions were conducted to demonstrate the practical applications of Vedic maths.

Students actively participated in the workshop, asking questions and solving problems on the spot. An evaluation session was held at the end of the workshop, where students shared their feedback and experiences. Teachers also provided their observations, noting a significant improvement in students’ enthusiasm and understanding of mathematical concepts.

Disaster Management Week

As a part of Disaster Management Week, the Social Science Department of Salwan Public School TDSC, in collaboration with the Red Cross Indian Society, Ghaziabad, organised a comprehensive First Aid Training Workshop. The event aimed to equip students with essential first aid knowledge and skills necessary for effective disaster preparedness. It included a mix of theoretical knowledge and practical exercises designed to enhance students’ understanding and proficiency in first aid.

 Key Activities and Learning Outcomes

  1. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training:

  – Students learned the steps involved in performing CPR, a critical life-saving procedure used during cardiac emergencies.

  – Practical sessions allowed students to practice chest compressions and rescue breaths on mannequins, ensuring they understood the correct techniques.

  1. Wound Care and Bandaging:

  – The workshop covered various types of wounds and the appropriate first aid measures for each.

  – Students practiced bandaging techniques and learned how to control bleeding and prevent infection.

  1. Choking and Heimlich Manoeuvre:

  – Students were taught how to recognise signs of choking and perform the Heimlich manoeuvre to clear the airway.

 Additional Activities during Disaster Management Week

  1. Debate Competition

  – Class 7 students participated in a debate competition on the topic, ‘Can climate change be considered a man-made disaster?’

  – The debate aimed to enhance critical thinking and public speaking skills while raising awareness about climate change and its impacts.

  1. First Aid Box Preparation

  – Class 6 students prepared first aid boxes, learning about the essential items that should be included for effective emergency response.

  – This activity promoted practical understanding and readiness.

  1. Poster Making:

  – Students engaged in a poster-making activity focused on disaster management themes.

  – The posters were displayed around the school to spread awareness and reinforce the importance of disaster preparedness.

Bidding a Farewell to The Outgoing Class XII Students

People say that goodbyes are hard, and especially when it comes to saying one to an institution where one has spent thirteen long years, where one has been moulded from a child to a young man, where one has tasted every emotion possible. The students, staff and management bade farewell to the outgoing students of outgoing Class XII on Saturday 06 July 2024. The farewell was hosted by present Class XII , who gave their best wishes to their seniors.

The programme began with an auspicious prayer and the Brig. Rajiv Minocha, Director and Ms. Sunita Madan, Principal inspired the students with wisdom. The programme included several events, performed by students of class XII for the outgoing seniors, the ones who had held their hands as elder siblings. A nostalgic video invoked memories and emotions of the class XII and certainly did strike a chord with them.

Outgoing Class XII students shared their memories associated with the school. In an emotionally charged atmosphere, teachers also wished them all the best and success in their futuristic endeavours.

Inter School Cricket Match

In an exciting match between the Under 13 teams of SPS Mayur Vihar and Tronica City, the students of Salwan Public School TDSC secured the title of ‘Winners’. SPS TDSC defeated the opponent team by 46 runs.

सपनों की उड़ान' से संबंधित स्वरचित कहानी (हस्तनिर्मित फोल्डर आवश्यक है|

विद्यार्थियों में कल्पना व जिज्ञासा के प्रति उत्साह को जागृत करने हेतु ‘लेखन मंथन अंतर्सदनीय प्रतियोगिता’ दिनांक- 23.7.2024(मंगलवार) को संपन्न कराई गई जिसमें कक्षा छठी से आठवीं तक के विद्यार्थियों ने भाग लिया। इस प्रतियोगिता ने विद्यार्थियों को अपनी रचनात्मकता और लेखन कौशल को प्रदर्शित करने का एक मंच प्रदान किया जिसमें उन्‍होंने अपनी मौलिक कहानियों के माध्यम से अपनी प्रतिभा का प्रदर्शन किया। प्रतियोगिता में प्रथम स्थान पर रहीं अमर्त्य सेन सदन की सातवीं ‘ब’ कक्षा की छात्रा अवनी कौशिक तथा द्वितीय स्थान पर रहीं मदर टेरेसा सदन की सातवीं ‘ब’ कक्षा की छात्रा जिया गुप्ता।

Help Program

Setting and achieving goals is crucial for academic and personal success. To support students in this endeavour, this session aimed to provide them with strategies to set effective goals and manage stress through meditation. The session commenced with a workshop on SMART GOALS, led by Ms. Gunjan Mantri. The workshop aimed to introduce students to the SMART criteria for goal setting, which stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Ms. Mantri explained each component in detail and emphasised the importance of setting clear and attainable goals.

Key Points Covered:

  • Specific: Clearly defining the goal to provide direction.
  • Measurable: Establishing criteria to measure progress.
  • Achievable: Setting realistic goals within reach.
  • Relevant: Ensuring the goal is meaningful and aligned with broader objectives.
  • Time-bound: Setting a deadline to create urgency and focus.

The workshop concluded with a Q&A session where students clarified their doubts and shared their own goal-setting experiences.

Following the workshop, Mrs. Geeta Jain conducted a 25-minute guided meditation session. The objective was to help students manage stress and improve concentration through mindfulness practices. Mrs. Jain led the students through a series of breathing exercises and visualization techniques designed to promote relaxation and mental clarity.

Highlights of the Session:

  • Breathing Exercises: Techniques to calm the mind and reduce anxiety.
  • Visualization: Guided imagery to enhance focus and positivity.
  • Mindfulness: Encouraging awareness of the present moment to improve overall well-being.

The meditation practice was well-received, with many expressing a desire to incorporate it into their daily routines.

NADT Orientation

Salwan Public School TDSC, successfully conducted the ‘Desh or Hum’ orientation session for Ghaziabad region at Uttam School for Girls. Our young learners were enlightened about the taxation system and motivated to be responsible citizens. We extend our gratitude to Shri Sushil Dutt Salwan, Chairman Salwan Education Trust, and Sri Mahesh Shah, Principal ADG, National Academy of Direct Taxes, for their valuable insights. The students are eagerly looking forward to participate in the online  competitions and win exciting prizes.
