NAVTIKA:
Journal of Early Childhood Care and Education was launched on January
20, 2007 by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Women & Child Development,
Government of India. It has been registered under Registrar of
Newspapers of India, New Delhi.
The Journal is published quarterly. It features articles designed to
impart new information and sharing of ideas among practitioners in the
early childhood field. It is intended for parents, teachers,
teacher-educators, educational administrators, research workers and
teacher trainees. The journal is controlled by an editorial board and
all submissions undergo a review process.
SALWAN SCHOOLS PARTNER WITH THE CBSE TO DESIGN CBSE INTERNATIONAL CURRICULUM: The teachers of the Salwan group of Schools have planned, developed and designed the curriculum for the primary classes with complete activities, projects and audio visual links etc. It was a monumental effort by the staff to work on all the lessons in detail with proper guidance for the teachers who would be using this curriculum. It has been devised to replicate the curriculum of the International Boards such as the International Baccalaureate .This effort has been very well appreciated by the schools who were adopting the curriculum and also by the CBSE.
Initially in the academic year 2010-2011 this curriculum was implemented in about 25 schools in Middle-east and South-Asia as a pilot project for classes I and IX.

The curriculum provides opportunity for extended learning and helps develop perspectives, with emphasis on research orientation and social empowerment.
This year CBSE International (CBSEI) curriculum will be introduced only in class I and IX to be followed by introduction in classes II, VI, VII and X in 2011 and remaining classes in 2012.
CBSE International Curriculum
The CBSE-I curriculum is now being subscribed by 30 schools in nine countries. It aims to promote critical and creative thinking skills, effective communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills and information and media skills.
It provides, inter-alia, flexibility in social science and languages. Other features include perspectives on building opinions, critical thinking module, life skill, research project and community service.
International Indian schools in Dammam, Riyadh and Jubail have signed up for a new international student curriculum recommended by India's Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
It is of international standard and gives a global perspective to the subjects of study.
The new curriculum will help students to compete better at international level.
