EARTH DAY CELEBRATION: A special assembly on the occasion of Earth Day was held in the school on 25 April 2012. A brief outline was given on the importance of the celebration of this special day. Students of class III to V presented an enactment to save various resources of earth. Students pledged that they would save environment. The assembly was followed by two dances and a song by the choir group. The theme of the cultural show was to admire the beauty of earth.
A workshop was also organized for the students of Class IV and V on Best Out Of Waste.
Objective-: The purpose of conducting the assembly was to make the children aware of-
1. The need to conserve our resources like plants, water, fuel & electricity.
2. The importance of using eco friendly products like handmade paper, cloth bags and discourages the use of polythene bags.
3. Proper utilization of waste to make useful products.
Book Week:
Book Week was
celebrated from 16 April 2012 to 20 April 2012 in Salwan Junior Public School,
Naraina with great zeal. During the week, the entire school was abuzz with
various activities and competitions associated with ‘books and reading’ for all
the classes from KG to 5
The Chief Guest Mr. Sanjay Muttoo inaugurated the story-telling show. He has
been closely associated with All India Radio, as a News Reader in English since
1992. He is also a lecturer in Mass Communication Department in Jamia
University. As a documentary film maker he has researched, scripted and directed
many documentary films. His story-telling was very expressive and enthusiastic.
Children enjoyed the actions portrayed by him for different animals during the
narration of his stories. Mr. Sanjay Muttoo applauded the students' efforts for
their work on Story Writing, Book Covers, Book Marks and Travelogues which were
beautifully displayed. Throughout the week the school looked like a Reader's
Paradise with students thronging the stalls of ‘Scholastic’ who had put up the
Book Fair.
Aqua Sparkle Activity- KG
CLASS: To
beat the heat in the summers, fun session was organized for kindergarteners:
‘Aqua Sparkles.’ It was a Rain Dance programme which was enjoyed by the children
during the chilling heat along with some foot tapping music. Children came to
school in beautiful costumes to enjoy their hot day in the cool dips of showers;
engulfed with enjoyment, fun and frolic.
Express Yourself Competition: Express Yourself Competition for KG class was held in the month of April. Being the very first competition of the session, children were given a chance to express themselves with the help of their favorite object (be it a toy, a fruit or a cartoon character etc.)
The activity boosted the
confidence of the children on a completely new level. Children were applauded by
judges; and prizes were given to the winners.
Special Assembly:
The entire month of April and May had our Kindergarteners learning,
understanding and exploring various aspects of “Me and My Family.” To make the
concept more visual and practical; children participated in various activities
like coloring, drawing, origami, use of audio visual aids, free and structured
conversations, clay modeling and finally a project was given to all of them to
make their ‘family photo frames.’ Children made wonderful photo frames with the
help of their parents and tagged their family members. Postcards were also made
by the children; addressing their parents and wishing them happy mother’s day
and father’s day!!! To conclude a Special Assembly was presented by KG kids to
show-nuclear family and joint family. They also wished their parents, a happy
mother’s day and father’s day, in their own sweet way.
Special Assembly Labour Day: Labour Day was celebrated on 1 May 2012 in honour of the support staff of the school who have contributed immensely ever since the birth of the institution. Their diligent and sincere efforts have been building blocks to the reputed image of the school. As a mark of respect towards their hardwork the students enthralled them with their melodious bhajans and songs and brilliantly choreographed dance performance. The Principal Ms. Nisha Obheroi, praised each worker and presented them with a card, flowers and a gift as a token of appreciation. Expressing their gratitude, the support staff pledged to be ever faithful towards the institution and deliver their duties in the most earnest manner.
