Raksha Bandhan Celebration

As an emotive gesture ahead of Raksha Bandhan, a group of 16 young girl students of SPS MV from classes IV, V and VI, accompanied by two teachers – Smt. Rani Sanyal and Sh. Jitender, both Physical Education teachers– paid a visit to the office of the Station House Officer (SHO) in Ghazipur on Friday, 16 August 2024. The purpose of the visit was to tie Rakhis to the SHO Sh. Nirmal Kumar Jha and his team, thus appreciating their support as always.  This display of unity and camaraderie stood as a tribute to the unwavering commitment of the police force to the betterment of society and the nation as a whole. 

Students from class III participated in Pooja Thali decoration activity. The beautifully decorated thalis showcased the students’ creativity and attention to the details. The students from classes IV-V demonstrated their artistic talents by making colourful Rakhis. Using materials like silken threads, satin ribbons, and handmade paper, they crafted a variety of vibrant and intricate Rakhis.

The activity provided an engaging and educational experience, allowing students to connect with their cultural heritage while enhancing their artistic skills.

Sanskrit Divas

Sanskrit Divas was celebrated in SPS MV on Wednesday, 07 August 2024, wherein activities like making book marks, writing Sanskrit aphorisms and making wall paintings were organised. Sanskrit Verse Recitation Competition and Sanskrit Storytelling Competition were also conducted. Students from classes VI to VIII participated with full enthusiasm in these competitions. Through these activities, the students developed a deeper interest in the Sanskrit language.

Achievement- Sanskrit Poetry Recitation Competition

On Monday, 12 August 2024, a Zonal level Sanskrit Poetry Recitation competition was organised in Dashmesh Public School, wherein four students of SPS MV participated with full enthusiasm. More than 200 schools participated at junior and senior levels.  Students recited prayers for their parents as well as praises to the Gods. This activity developed Sanskrit reading skills among the students. The result of the competition will be announced later.

Independence Day Celebration

SPS Mayur Vihar, celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day on Tuesday, 13 August 2024, with immense patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.

The highlight of the event was an impressive solo performance by a student who was applauded for her Patr Chitrankan of Draupadi. A powerful speech on the significance of Independence Day was delivered by a student which was much appreciated. The celebration also included a heartfelt recitation of the poem ‘My Country’ by a student of Class II that emphasised on love and dedication to India. A vibrant dance performance by the students of classes I-II on the theme of ‘Unity in Diversity’ reflected the cultural richness of India.

The event recognised ‘Peer Educators’ from Classes VI-IX, who were honoured with badges for their role in promoting positive values among students. Capt Richa Sharma Katyal, Principal, SPS MV, delivered an inspiring speech, paying tribute to the freedom fighters and urging students to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. The event concluded with the flag hoisting ceremony and the singing of the National Anthem, symbolising unity and patriotism. 

Achievement-Zonal Table Tennis Championship- Senior Boys

The Senior Boys Table Tennis team of SPS MV secured 1st place in the Zonal Table Tennis Championship, held at Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar, on Monday, 05 August 2024. A total of 12 school teams participated in the championship. The SPS MV team was led by Daksh Kumar of Class X (Captain), along with Nirvaan and Ayush Chopra, both from Class XI.

Achievement-Zonal Table Tennis Championship- Sub Junior Boys

The Sub-Junior Boys Table Tennis team of SPS MV secured 3rd place in the Zonal Table Tennis Championship, held at Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar Phase-I, Delhi, on Wednesday, 07 August 2024. A total of eight school teams participated in the championship.

Achievement- Mono Acting Inter-School Zonal Competition, DOE

SPS MV hosted a vibrant Mono Acting Inter-School Zonal Competition organised by the DoE, bringing together 22 schools from Zone 2, on Wednesday, 07 August 2024. The competition featured four categories: Junior Girls, Senior Girls, Junior Boys, and Senior Boys. Each category showcased impressive and captivating performances, with students demonstrating their unique interpretations and expressive skills, bringing a variety of characters and emotions to life on stage. The participants’ dedication and enthusiasm were evident in every act, making the competition a memorable and enriching experience. The event not only highlighted the students’ creative talents but also fostered a spirit of healthy competition and mutual appreciation.

Achievement-Scintillations 2024

Scintillations 2024, the annual Inter-School Science competition, was organised by Somerville School, Vasundhara Enclave, on Friday, 09 August 2024. The event provided a platform for students to showcase their talent and expertise through digital means, featuring two innovative competitions: Technotopia (digital presentations on human organ systems) and Scientopia (Scrabble on human organ systems). These challenges put the participants’ creativity and knowledge to the test.

Thirteen schools took part in the event, with each participant receiving a certificate of participation. The jury commended the students from SPS MV for their exceptional choice of topic and the quality of their presentation. Notably, Tanish Gupta, a Class XII student, distinguished himself by winning two prizes in the open quiz organised by the host school at the conclusion of the event.

Hunar Mela

The Mela and Exhibition-cum-Sale of Handlooms and Handicrafts, organised under the ‘Save the Artisans’ project at SPS MV, on Wednesday, 14 August 2024, was a vibrant celebration of culture and craftsmanship. The event, which saw enthusiastic participation from teachers and parents, commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a soulful rendition of Saraswati Vandana by the students. The exhibition showcased a stunning array of handcrafted sarees, dupattas, and jewellery, highlighting the exquisite skills of local artisans. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Kanika Sood, an Oncologist, at Dharamshila Narayana Hospital.

The event concluded with impressive sales, reflecting strong community support and underscoring its success in promoting and sustaining traditional craftsmanship.

Educational Visit to National Museum

Culture and art are the backbone of society. On Friday, 16 August 2024, a group of 59 students and 04 teachers from SPS MV, embarked on an educational visit to the National Museum, New Delhi. The visit was organised in collaboration with the Visual and Performing Arts Department and the Humanities Department. Guided by museum personnel, students explored artefacts ranging from the prehistoric period to the Mughal era, gaining valuable insights into India’s rich heritage. They also had the opportunity to experience a virtual tour of the Ajanta Caves, enhancing their understanding of ancient art and architecture.

The visit was highly enriching, instilling cultural values in the students and deepening their appreciation for our artistic and historical legacy.

Essay Writing Competition

The Hindi and English Departments at SPS MV, conducted an essay writing competition on Friday, 16 August 2024, with enthusiastic participation from students in classes VI to XII. The topic, ‘Azadi Ka Amar Sandesh’ or ‘Immortal Message of Freedom,’ inspired thought-provoking essays that highlighted the key messages and takeaways from the Honourable Prime Minister’s Independence Day speech. The students demonstrated a deep understanding of Hon’ble PM Modi Ji’s vision for India’s future in their essays.

अंतर्विद्यालयी हिंदी भाषाई प्रतियोगिता

सलवान पब्लिक स्कूल, मयूर विहार के प्रांगण में शुक्रवार 09 अगस्त 2024 को ‘अंतर्विद्यालयी हिंदी भाषाई प्रतियोगिता’- अभिव्यक्ति … भावों की में कहानी वाचन, कविता वाचन, पात्र चरित्रांकन, दोहा गायन, और वाद- विवाद प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया था,जिसमें सलवान एजुकेशन ट्रस्ट के अंतर्गत सलवान स्कूल  की विभिन्न शाखाओं के अतिरिक्त दिल्ली,एन सी आर के विभिन्न विद्यालयों से विद्यार्थियों ने उत्साह और उमंग के साथ बढ़-चढ़ कर भाग लिया।

‘अभिव्यक्ति … भावों की ’ प्रतियोगिता के आयोजन  का उद्देश्य  बच्चों को अपनी प्रतिभा दिखाने के लिए एक मंच प्रदान करना, विविध विद्यालयों के विद्यार्थियों  व अध्यापकों   के मध्य आपसी मेल-जोल व सामंजस्य स्थापित करना और साथ ही हमारी समृद्ध संस्कृति और परंपरा को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करना था।

प्रतियोगिता का आरंभ हमारे सम्मानित मुख्य अतिथि श्री जगदीश व्योम एवं निर्णायकगण द्वारा दीप प्रज्ज्वलन के साथ किया गया । उनका स्वागत एवं सम्मान पादप और चित्र भेंट के रूप देकर किया गया।  अपने स्वागत भाषण में प्रधानाचार्या महोदया ने प्रतियोगिता में भाग लेने वाले सभी विद्यार्थियों की प्रशंसा की व उन्हें शुभकामनाएँ देकर प्रोत्साहित किया तथा उनकी प्रगति को एक महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि के रूप में स्वीकार करने के लिए बधाई दी। ‘अतिथि देवो भव’ की परंपरा को निभाते हुए “स्वागतम्- शुभ स्वागतम्” गीत के मधुर स्वरों से स्वागत किया गया।

प्रतिभागियों का मूल्यांकन भाव,पात्रों का चयन,समग्र प्रस्तुति,उपयुक्त पोशाक और समय सीमा के पालन के आधार पर किया गया।समग्र चैम्पियन ट्रॉफी लवली हैरिटेज स्कूल,मयूर विहार को दी गई। निर्णायकगण द्वारा बच्चों के मनमोहक प्रदर्शन की सराहना अनमोल वचनों द्वारा की गई।कार्यक्रम का समापन अत्यंत कुशलता एवं सफलतापूर्वक हुआ ।

Adobe Education Summit

The Adobe Education Summit on Friday, 09 August 2024, began with a keynote by Mala Sharma, Global VP of Adobe Express, highlighting the importance of integrating creativity and technology in education. Smt. Pooja Dhingra, HoD IT, represented SPS MV. Shri Vipin Kumar, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Education, emphasised competency-based learning and the critical role of technology in modern education. The summit featured inspiring stories, panel discussions on AI in digital creativity, and hands-on sessions with Adobe Express. The event concluded with an award ceremony recognising educators involved in Adobe’s Digital Creativity & AI Skills Program.

Investiture Ceremony

The school is dedicated to recognising and nurturing every child’s talent, offering endless opportunities for them to grow into confident, responsible individuals. On Monday, 12 August 2024, this commitment culminated in the Investiture Ceremony, where young leaders were inducted into the Student Council. Shri Bharat Salhotra, Honourable Chairperson of SPS MV, graced the event, presenting badges and inspiring the students with his vision for education. Maj Gen Ajay Khandpur (Retd), Director, SPS MV and Capt Richa Sharma Katyal (Retd), Principal, SPS MV congratulated the new leaders, encouraging them to elevate the institution with dedication. The ceremony featured a vibrant choir performance and a panel discussion on ‘Leadership and the Traits of a Great Leader,’ preparing students to realise their potential and dreams.

Achievement-TSSMUN Competition

Six students from classes VII-IX of SPS MV participated in the TSSMUN competition at The Sovereign School, Rohini, on Friday, 02 August and Saturday, 03 August 2024. Zenia Gupta of class IX got High Recommendation in UNHRC and Aarav Upadhyay of class VII won two awards as the best delegate of Lok Sabha and an outstanding delegate award across all committees along with a cash prize.

Achievement-Battle of Titans 2024-Annual Inter School IT Fest

Battle of Titans 2024, an annual Inter School IT fest, was organised by Mayoor School, Noida on Thursday, 08 August 2024 to showcase students’ talent and expertise through digital means. Three students from SPS MV-Adya Chaudhary of class V, Riyaan and Krishnansh from class VI participated in the Fest. The event featured a variety of riveting competitions that challenge the creative minds of the participants. 44 schools from different states participated in the event. A participation certificate was provided to the participants. The event was a successful blend of competition and learning, leaving our students enriched and inspired.

Achievement-Annual Inter School Event -Ethos 2024-2025

East Point School hosted its Annual Inter School Event, ETHOS 2024-2025 on Saturday, 10 August 2024. Representing SPS MV, Class X students Mohd. Saad and Vaibhav Singh participated as a team in the Puzzle Pandemonium event. The competition, centered around Mind Mastery (Sudoku), comprised two rounds: the first round, played on a 5×5 grid, lasted 1-10 minutes, while the second round, played on a 9×9 grid, spanned 2-20 minutes. The challenge was to correctly fill all the blank cells in the shortest time possible. 

The team secured the third prize, earning both medals and certificates.

SPS MV Junior Girls Badminton team secured the second position in Zonals held at Vidya Bal Bhawan school Mayur Vihar, Delhi, on Wednesday, 21 August 2024.

SPS MV Junior Girls team secured the 3rd position in the Zonal Volleyball Championship held at Bal Bhawan Public school Mayur Vihar Phase-2, Delhi, on Wednesday, 21 August 2024.

Sub Junior Girls Zonal

 SPS MV Sub Junior Girls team won the first position in the Zonal Volleyball Championship held at Bal Bhawan Public school Mayur Vihar Phase-2, Delhi, on Wednesday, 21 August 2024. A total of 12 school teams had participated in this championship.

Senior Boys Zonal Volleyball Championship

Senior Boys team  secured First Position in the Zonal Volleyball Championship which was held at East point school Vasundhara Enclave, Delhi on Wednesday, 28 August 2024. A total of 33 school teams had participated in the said championship.

Janmashtami Celebrations

A special assembly was conducted in SPS MV, on Wednesday, 21 August 2024, in the MPH Hall Ground Floor, to celebrate the auspicious occasion of ‘Janmashtami’. The highlight of the day was a skit titled ‘Gita Updesh’, performed by class XI students, portraying the teachings of Lord Krishna from the Bhagavad Gita. Senior girl students presented a captivating Kathak-style dance performance titled ‘Kanha Re’, celebrating the divine playfulness of Lord Krishna.

RIDS Activity

On August 22, 2024, Social Science and French departments at SPS MV, organised RIDS activity. The event, a well-curated blend of Indian and French culture and cuisine, was a remarkable celebration of diversity. Smt. Shalini Thakur, TGT Social Science from SPS TDSC, and Smt. Chhavi Gupta, a freelance French teacher were the esteemed guests. The activity provided a vibrant platform for students to explore and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of both nations, fostering a deeper understanding of global diversity and culinary traditions.

Parent Partnership Program

A workshop was organised at SPS MV, on Thursday, 22 August 2024, for students of classes XI and XII on law and legal studies by Mr. Raj Dev Singh and Ms Niharika Gupta under the Parent partnership program. They shared insights about the profession and students asked many pertinent questions, proving it to be a rich learning experience.

A Visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan

On Saturday, 24 August 2024, students of SPS MV, from class VI and VII visited Amrit Udyan and Rashtrapati Bhavan, an experience that was both educational and inspiring. The trip included a tour of Amrit Udyan, where the students marvelled at the beautifully landscaped gardens, filled with a vibrant array of flowers and plants. The garden’s serene environment offered a perfect setting for the students to appreciate nature’s beauty and learn about the various species of flora. The trip was an enriching experience, leaving the students with a deeper understanding of India’s biodiversity and the importance of preserving such national treasures.

Inter Zonal Art Competition

An Inter Zonal Art Competition was hosted at SPS MV ,on Saturday 24 August 2024, which included 195 participants from 78 schools within Zone 2. The event was a vibrant celebration of artistic talent, filled with enthusiasm and creativity. The competition was divided into two categories: Junior Boys and Senior Boys. Students from each category displayed exceptional skill and creativity, expressing a wide range of themes through their artwork. The dedication and passion of the participants were evident in every piece, making the event a memorable experience for everyone involved. Sh. Raj Shankar Jha and Sh. N.K. Singh were the Judges for the competition and they much appreciated the efforts of the students.

Kids For Tigers

At SPS MV, an Environment Leadership workshop was organised by ‘Kids For Tigers and Wildlife Sanctuary Asia ‘for teachers from the Delhi-NCR region on Friday, 23 August 2024. The primary goal was to educate and sensitise teachers about the ‘Save Tigers’ initiative. Various student-centric activities were planned and the highlight of the event was the presence of acclaimed wildlife photographer Mr. Akash Das, who emphasised the crucial need to conserve existing jungles. The workshop proved to be an enlightening and motivating experience for all.

Innofete 2024

‘Innofete 2024’, the annual interschool fest organised by Father Angel School, New Delhi on Friday, 23 August 2024, provided a platform for students to showcase their talents across various disciplines. Two students from SPS MV participated in the Mathematics event, where they presented the application of mathematical concepts in sports. This event saw enthusiastic participation from multiple schools, making it a unique learning experience for all involved. A digital participation certificate will be awarded to our students.
The event successfully combined competition and knowledge, leaving our students motivated and enlightened.

Innofete 2024, Sanskrit Competition

शुक्रवार, 23 अगस्त 2024 को फादर एग्नेल स्कूल, नई दिल्ली द्वारा वार्षिक अंतर्विद्यालय उत्सव ‘इनोफेट 2024’ का आयोजन किया गया था । इस उत्सव ने छात्रों को विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में अपनी प्रतिभाओं का प्रदर्शन करने के लिए एक उत्कृष्ट मंच प्रदान किया।हमारे विद्यालय से कक्षा छठी -अ की दिशिता गुप्ता ने ‘समाज के पिछड़े वर्ग’ विषय पर आधारित एकल अभिनय प्रतियोगिता में भाग लिया। 

संस्कृत ज्ञान प्रतियोगिता में कक्षा छठी ‘ब’ के रेयान तथा छठी ‘स’ की वरोनिका ने भाग लिया। इस गतिविधि से उनके संस्कृत भाषा के व्याकरणात्मक ज्ञान में वृद्धि हुई।

छात्रों को इस कार्यक्रम में उनकी भागीदारी के लिए डिजिटल प्रमाण पत्र प्रदान किए जाएँगे।

यह आयोजन सभी प्रतिभागियों के लिए एक अनूठा और शिक्षाप्रद अनुभव रहा। 

Light Music Vocal (Solo) Zonal Competition

Light Music Vocal (Solo) Zonal Competition was held on Saturday 24 August 2024, at SKV West Vinod Nagar.  Parnika Chandra of class XI of SPS MV performed a Ghulam Ali ghazal and secured the first position.

Zonal Instrumental (Swar & Percussion) Competition

On Friday, 09 August 2024, Mother’s Global Public School, Preet Vihar, organised the Zonal Instrumental (Swar & Percussion) competition. This event provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their talents in various musical disciplines. Representing our school in the Zonal Cultural Activity competition, Janak Radomir Rai of Class VII participated in the Tabla playing. The student delivered a captivating performance, displaying remarkable skill and dedication. Through this experience, the student further developed a deeper understanding and appreciation of the art of Tabla, contributing to their overall musical growth.

MAXPLOTARIUM Inter-School Competition 2024

On Saturday, 03 August 2024, Maxfort School, Pitampura, hosted the ‘MAXPLOTARIUM’ Inter-School competition 2024. This event named भक्तिसुधा focused on devotional music, providing a platform for students to express their devotion through soulful performances. Kushagra Saxena of Class- VII C represented our school by singing a beautiful Ram bhajan, which captivated the audience. The participant was skillfully accompanied by Janak Radomir Rai of Class- VII C on the Tabla, adding a rhythmic depth to the performance. Ms. Neha Kohli also accompanied the students, providing guidance and support throughout the event. This competition was an enriching experience for the students.

Orientation Programme - Desh Aur Hum 3.0

The National Academy of Direct Taxes and Salwan Education Trust organized an orientation program, “Desh aur Hum- 3.0,” on August 6, 2024, at Lotus Valley International School, Noida. The event aimed to educate students about the importance of taxes in nation-building and development.

Shri Paramjit Khanna, Secretary, Salwan Education Trust, emphasized the crucial role of taxes in funding public services and promoting economic stability. Shri Mahesh Shah, IRS, Principal Additional Director General, NADT, encouraged students to participate in online competitions and become ambassadors in spreading awareness about taxes.

The event concluded by Capt Richa Sharma Katyal, Principal, Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar providing information pertaining to inter-school competitions, such as event formats, activities, timelines, registration procedures, and all other essential details, was disseminated and a vote of thanks.
