“Do not keep children to their studies by compulsion but by play”, said Plato over 2400 years ago and his words still ring true. This philosophy found expression in the educational visit of students to ‘KidZania’- a global indoor theme park, which is a distinctive indoor theme park tailored specifically for children. Accompanied by 31 teachers and 534 students from Classes Nursery to V of SPS MV visited KidZania on 16 September 2023.
The place offers a make-believe world where students can learn about reality in an engaging manner, and gives kids a real-life experience through role-play activities. The students got the opportunity to choose the role they desired to play, enabling them to delve into a vast range of professions. Roles such as of a delivery man, chef, judge, lawyer, police officer, firefighter, DJ, RJ, and farmer, were among the available options. This exploration not only enabled them to gain a better understanding of a wide array of professions, but also facilitated the discovery of their personal interests, allowing them to unlock their hidden creativity and untapped potential.
WORKSHOP ON CYBER SAFETY AND SECURITY
On September 22, 2023, a pivotal Cyber Safety and Security workshop was conducted at the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)-Patparganj, under the guidance of Mr. Rajwardhan, a renowned IT expert in the field. Faculty members-Ms. Pooja Dhinga and Ms. Neelima Goyal (Computer Department) of SPS MV participated in the workshop. The event commenced with an insightful introduction by Mr. Subhash Garg, Deputy Secretary-Head CoE, highlighting the pressing need for cyber safety in today’s technology-driven world.
The workshop covered a diverse range of topics, including online privacy, secure browsing practices, identifying and mitigating cyber threats, and responsible social media usage. The resource person demonstrated various cybersecurity tools and techniques, providing hands-on experience to the teachers.
Participants were actively engaged through interactive sessions, case studies, and practical demonstrations. The workshop concluded with a Question and Answer session, wherein teachers clarified their concerns.
CBSE TRAINING SESSION: INTRODUCTION TO AR AND VR (SKILL SUBJECT)
A significant session organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) took place in virtual mode, on 21 September 2023. It was attended by teachers of classes VI to VIII of SPS MV. It introduced them to the world of Extended Reality (XR). The main objective of the training session was to acquaint teachers with the concept of Extended Reality (XR) and its various forms: Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR).The trainer also provides an overview of how XR technologies can be integrated into classroom teaching and learning and motivates teachers to explore real-time applications of XR in different fields and industries. The session also discussed the potential benefits of XR in enhancing the educational experience. One of the highlights of the session was the real-time demonstrations of XR applications across different sectors.
CBSE SKILL EXPO AND NATIONAL GUIDANCE FESTIVAL – 2023
The CBSE Skill Expo and National Guidance Festival held in 2023 proved to be a resounding success, showcasing the immense potential and talent of students across various disciplines. The event, organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on 19 and 20 September 2023 at NASC Auditorium, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Pusa Road, Delhi 12. The event aimed to promote skill development and career guidance among students.
The Expo featured a diverse range of skills and talents, with students demonstrating proficiency in fields like coding, robotics, culinary arts at the national level. The interactive cupolas allowed participants to not only display their skills but also learn from one another, fostering a spirit of collaboration and innovation.
Mohd Saad and Vaibhav Singh of class IX represented their project “Sumadra Kavach,” and exhibited remarkable ingenuity at the CBSE Skill Expo and National Guidance Festival 2023. Their participation in the National Coding Challenge 2023 showcased their exceptional coding skills. “Sumadra Kavach” garnered significant attention for its innovative approach to the National Coding Challenge. The project not only demonstrated technical proficiency but also highlighted their commitment to addressing real-world challenges keeping in mind the Sustainable Goals spelled by the United Nations. The duo’s contribution was invaluable and their project was appreciated by Sh. R.P. Singh, Joint Secretary-CBSE (Skill Education) and Smt. Vinnie Jauhari, Joint Director Skill –Microsoft.
CAPACITY BUILDING TOUR FOR STUDENTS TO IMA DEHRADUN
From September 17 to September 19, 2023, a two-night educational tour to the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun was organized by SPS MV. The tour included 46 students from various Salwan Schools, along with four teachers and Maj Gen Ajay Khandpur, VSM (Retd.), Director of SPS MV. Students visited Sahastradhara, the IMA, and the Forest Research Institute (FRI). Highlights of the tour included witnessing cadet life at the IMA, exploring the Central Library, and visiting various museums at FRI. The trip enriched students’ perspectives and instilled values of discipline, sacrifice, and environmental stewardship.
ZONAL VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Volleyball Boys:
SPS MV Junior Boys Volleyball team, secured the First position in Zonal Volleyball Championship, which was held at East Point School Vasundhara Enclave, Delhi.
In the Sub Junior category, our team secured the 3rd position, highlighting their promising performance and growth.
Volleyball Girls:
Our female volleyball teams have made impressive strides in recent competitions hosted at Bal Bhawan Public School in Phase 2, Mayur Vihar.
In the Junior category, our team secured the 2nd position, showcasing their commendable performance and teamwork.
The Senior Girls’ team also claimed the 2nd position, reflecting their experience and excellence in the sport.
ZONAL CLASSICAL VOCAL MUSIC COMPETITION-ACHIEVEMENT
Saswat Balan of class XII, a student of SPS MV got the Second position in Zonal Classical Vocal Music Competition, Senior Boys category.
ZONAL CHESS COMPETITION
SPS MV Sub Junior (Under-14) Chess Boys team secured the Second position in Zonal Chess Competition, held on 29 and 31 August at ASOSE, Khichripur.

ACHIEVEMENT-ZONAL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
- SPS MV Junior Boys Basketball team, secured the First position in the Zonal Basketball Championship which was held at Mothers Global School, Preet Vihar, Delhi. A total of 24 school teams participated in the said championship. SPS MV Junior Boys team won the final match against Mayur Public School with a score of 21/ 18.
The Best Scorer of the tournament was from SPS MV- Shaurya Singh of class XI.
