Salwan Public School, Gurugram was blessed to experience the divine presence of the Apostle of Peace and Symbol of Love, His Holiness-The 14th Dalai Lama on 21st December 2022. The ambience of the school was embellished with Tibetan decorations, traditional Buddhist prayer flags and paintings. A sense of spiritual divinity was experienced by the chanting of ‘OM MANI PADME HUM’ which reverberated the sacred vibes.
To inculcate the values of spiritual devotion, a string of pre-visit activities including a Quiz, making Buddhist prayer flags, posters, and cloth printing based on the life and achievements of His Holiness were conducted in all the classes.
The audience witnessed the extraordinary endeavours of talented Salwanians with their phenomenal and awe-inspiring performance. The lyrical presentation- ‘Aikyum’, based on King Ashoka’s transformation struck the right chord with the teachings of His Holiness and left everyone with a message to embrace the values of humanity and compassion.
Shri Sushil Dutt Salwan, Chairman Salwan Education Trust extended his warm greetings to His Holiness on behalf of Salwan Education Trust. Reminiscing about Dalai Lama Ji’s previous visits to Salwan Schools, Sir expressed his gratitude towards him for being a guiding light to Salwanians.
His Holiness, in his address emphasised on the virtue of karuna and ahimsa in bringing inner strength and peace of mind. He advised the young generation to focus on education as per the Ancient Indian Tradition and Culture as it helps us connect with others, mend relationships, and move forward while fostering emotional intelligence and well-being.
Ms Rashmi Malik, Principal SPS Gurugram expressed her gratitude to all the students, guests, teachers, parents and Principals of various schools in Delhi NCR.
In her address, she elucidated that some techniques of mental training, such as Meditation and Super Brain Yoga are being religiously practised by our school students and His Holiness Dalai Lama Centre of Spiritual Learning will further pave the way towards integrating value system and spiritual upliftment of the students.
