Salwan Education Trust leaves no stone unturned in recognising and celebrating the efforts of teachers in pursuit of excellence. On the occasion of  the Founder’s Day i.e. 5th December, 2021, Salwan Education Trust conferred Dr Deepti Jain from SPS Gurugram and Mrs Pooja Dhingra from SPS Mayur Vihar with  Smt. Surrinder Randhawa Memorial Distinguished Teacher Award 2021. The  felicitation ceremony was held  at Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar following all Covid protocols. The award has been instituted by the family of Mrs. Surrinder Randhawa, former Vice-Principal of Salwan Girls School, in her memory.

Dr. Deepti Jain, a PhD in Visual Arts has been associated with Salwan Public School, Gurugram  for the last 20 years and her  students have found placements in institutes of repute, NID, NIFT, College of Art, Savannah College of Art and Design (USA), etc. Apart from this,  Dr. Jain has participated in many National and International Art Exhibitions, and contributed significantly in the  planning of Art Curriculum for Delhi Schools.

Ms Pooja Dhingra, Head,  IT department,  Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar is also a Master Trainer – Artificial Intelligence at CBSE.  Under her guidance, students created an  app that brought the school within First 10 schools nationally in AWS Young Builders Challenge 2021.  The same challenge was organized by CBSE in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog and Ministry of Education – Innovation Cell (Govt. of India).

The teachers received a citation and a cash reward of Rs.25000/- each by Sh. Shiv Dutt Salwan, Chairman Emeritus, Salwan Education Trust.

On this momentous occasion, the Trust invited the Trialogue Company to perform the musical “Tansen” in the School premises. The programme was a part of  ‘Support the Artisans’ initiative undertaken by the Trust. A melange of dance, drama and live music comprising dhrupad, qawwali and khayal gayaki, the play chronicled  the life of legendary Tansen, the greatest musician and his search for the true essence of life. The entire school reverberated the spirit of celebration with flowers, lights, rangolis and decorations.
