IT Competition

An electrifying competition was designed and conducted by DAV Public school, Dayanand Vihar on 28 October 2024, specifically for ambitious minds. Wartex provided a platform for young visionaries to dive deep into the realms of innovation, expand their knowledge, and forge connections with fellow enthusiasts. Around 600 students participated in different offline and online events. From SPS MV, Mohd. Saad and Pradyuman Jha of class X and XI respectively from Team Equinox emerged as champions, securing the first prize in this prestigious IT competition.  Their innovative approach and dedication set them apart from other competitors, showcasing their technical expertise and teamwork. This accomplishment reflects their hard work and commitment to excellence in the field of information technology. The other team of class VIII students from SPS MV, could not secure a position but overall, it was a great learning experience for them too.

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan

Drishti Singh, a student of Class IX at SPS MV, participated in Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan exam (VVM) conducted by the NCERT on Monday, 11 November 2024. She has qualified the District Level and is further selected for the State Level Examination to be held in December 2024. In all, 27 students from SPS MV participated in this exam and all received participation certificates.

Kalamanch

Ryan International School, Mayur Vihar, hosted Kalamanch, an inspiring event blending artistic and literary expressions, from Tuesday, 12 November 2024 to Wednesday, 13 November 2024. Two students of SPS MV – Vanshika Singh and Parnika Chandra, both from Class XI participated in the ‘Canvas and Quill’ event, and secured the first position, showcasing exceptional creativity and insightful perspectives through their eloquent words and vibrant artistry.

संस्कृत भाषा के प्रचार प्रसार

संस्कृत भाषा के प्रचार प्रसार हेतु डी.. ने दिनांक 16 नबम्बर 2024 (शनिवार) को संस्कृत क्लब गतिविधि के अंतर्गत संस्कृत चित्र आधारित वर्णन प्रतियोगिता का राज्य स्तर पर आयोजन किया | यह प्रतियोगिता कक्षा 6 से 10 तक के छात्रों के लिए आयोजित की गई | प्रतियोगिता में 20 विद्यालयों ने भाग लिया | एसपीएस मयूर विहार से इस प्रतियोगिता में नवमी की भाव्या सिंह ने भाग लिया | इस प्रतियोगिता से छात्रों में रचनात्मक कौशल, लेखन कौशल तथा संस्कृत वचन कौशल का विकास हुआ | छात्र चित्र देखकर संस्कृत वाक्य रचना और वाचन करने में सक्षम हुए।

Sports/Athletics Achievements

The Zone 2 Senior Boys Football team from SPS MV secured third place in the Delhi State School Games 2024. Additionally, Tanish Gupta from Class XII was selected as a Best Probable for the Delhi team that will participate in the National Trial Camp.

Krit Kedia, a visually impaired student of class X, at SPS MV, participated in chess competition on Monday, 11 November 2024, in the Zonal Para Sports Events held at SKV Mandawali. He secured the first position and qualified for the state level round.

Awareness Program

Students of Classes IX to XII from SPS MV, actively participated in an enlightening Career Day session, hosted virtually in collaboration with IBM experts on Tuesday, 19 November 2024. The one-hour session provided valuable insights into career paths in technology and sustainability, emphasising the role of innovation in shaping a better future. The event began with insightful presentations from IBM professionals, who elaborated on emerging fields like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Sustainable Technologies. They underscored the need for aligning career aspirations with global sustainability goals, using compelling real-world examples of how technology is driving transformational change.

The highlight of the session was an interactive Question & Answer round, where students seized the opportunity to engage directly with the experts. The discussion covered a range of topics, including skill-building, career development strategies, and emerging opportunities in the tech landscape. The resource persons emphasised on essential qualities like problem-solving, creativity, innovation, and lifelong learning, motivating students to stay informed about technological advancements. The interaction with IBM experts proved invaluable in broadening their horizons and instilling a sense of motivation and direction.

Celebration & Festivals

SPS Mayur Vihar hosted a combined assembly to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Children’s Day and Guru Purab, fostering a spirit of gratitude and joy on Thursday, 14 November 2024. The day began with a vibrant Prabhat Pheri, where the school Director, Principal, Vice principal, Headmistress, students and teachers walked together, singing melodious hymns, spreading positive energy all across the campus. The event transitioned to a serene recitation of Gurbani, invoking blessings and setting a reflective tone. The programme included a foot tapping group song performed by teachers, celebrating the bond between children and their mentors. The highlight of the day was an inspiring role play by teachers, portraying the significance of self-trust, discipline, and the role of good teachers in shaping young minds. Their engaging performance left a lasting impression, encouraging students to embrace these values in their lives. The assembly concluded with the principal’s words of encouragement, emphasising the importance of respecting teachers and cultivating self-belief. The event was a perfect blend of celebration and learning, leaving everyone inspired and motivated.

Workshops & Sessions

‘Fire Safety’ Workshop

A ‘Fire Safety’ workshop was conducted on Saturday, 09 November 2024, for the staff of SPS MV, by experts Sh. Deepak Nirwal and Sh. Deepak Olla from the Delhi Fire Department. They discussed essential safety measures to be followed during emergencies and shared practical insights on preventing fire hazards. The session included a hands-on demonstration, where the staff members were shown how to use fire extinguishers and also how to use a wet cotton bed sheet to control fire in case need arises. The workshop was informative and beneficial for all attendees.

CBSE-CBP One-Day Teachers' Training Programme

The CBSE-CBP One-Day Teachers’ Training Programme for the Yoga (841) skill course was held on Saturday, 16 November 2024 at Sri Venkateshwar International School, Sector 18A, Dwarka, New Delhi. The session was conducted by Dr. Neha Chaudhary (PGT-PE, DPS Agra) and Ms. Dolly Thakur (TGT-PE, DPS Saket). Sunil Choudhary (PGT-PE) at SPS MV represented the school as an attendee.

The program aimed to refine teaching methodologies and strengthen educators’ abilities to deliver the Yoga (841) skill course effectively, as outlined in the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The resource persons provided comprehensive guidance on content mastery, including foundational and advanced Yoga techniques, and emphasized the importance of innovative teaching approaches. They also explored Yoga’s role in enabling students’ mental, physical, and emotional development while highlighting its alignment with the NEP’s vision of holistic education.

Practical applications for integrating Yoga into classroom teaching were discussed, ensuring a balance between theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. This training reinforced the value of skill-based education and equipped educators with tools to promote mindfulness, stress management, and physical fitness among students.

Mastering Code X Workshop

Neelima Goyal (TGT- IT department) and Smt. Pooja Dhingra (HoD -IT department) at SPS MV, attended the Mastering Code X workshop at the India International Centre, on Tuesday, 12 November 2024, organised by KIPS Learning. The workshop, led by Dr. Osborne Terrence, emphasised the establishment of Robotics and AI labs as envisioned in NEP 2023, focusing on a holistic and future-oriented educational approach.

Dr. Terrence introduced a blended curriculum integrating robotics and coding with customisable kits, adaptable for various educational needs. Additionally, participants explored Generative AI’s potential to enhance creativity through a Learning Management System (LMS), offering students an engaging and transformative AI experience. DIYA Labs collaborated with KIPS to provide cost-effective, globally benchmarked solutions for schools aspiring to establish robotics labs.
