Wellness Unplugged
Four students of class XI at SPS MV- Ayush Kargeti, Anushree Bangali, Aditi Pandey and Vanshika Singh participated in the event ‘Wellness Unplugged’ held on Tuesday, 22 October 2024, at Mayoor School, Noida. The students took part in table top triumph activity where they created and presented a board game, ‘Mindscape Journey’. This platform provided students with an opportunity to showcase their innovative ideas to promote mental health and wellbeing. The students secured the second position in the event.
Visit to the India Meteorological Department (IMD)
SPS MV organised an educational trip to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at Mausam Bhawan, Delhi on Monday, 21 October 2024 for students of class XII. Two teachers-Smt. Seema Nagpal, PGT Physics, and Sh. Deepak, Lab Assistant, along with 40 students from classes XII were a part of the visit. The day began with a demonstration of the Doppler Radar, which surveys weather patterns and forecasts. This was followed by a tour of the Hydrology Division, where students learned about the measurement of temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind speed, and wind direction in both manual and automated observatories. Next, the students visited the SatMet Division, where they gained insights into weather satellites and the retrieval and analysis of satellite images for weather prediction. Lastly, the group visited the EMRC Division and learned about the measurement of pollutants and their aftereffects.
SAMUN 2024
SAMUN 2024 was successfully hosted by SPS MV, on 22 October 2024 and 23 October 2024, fostering a culture of collaboration, critical thinking, and empowering the next generation of leaders to navigate complex global challenges. From SPS MV, students of primary classes-IV and V participated in the SAMUN for the first time, apart from classes VI to IX and XI. Delegates deliberated on pressing geo-political and socio-economic issues, including humanitarian crisis, global conflicts, and national policy amendments. The event was honoured by the presence of Maj Gen Pankaj Kaushik, an inspirational military leader. Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar and Salwan Public School, Rajinder Nagar lifted the best school delegate trophy.
Achievement-Cricket
In Cricket Under-19 category, 03 girls of SPS MV got selected for Delhi State School Games; 01 boy in Under -14 and 01 boy Under-17 were also got selected. Selection trial was held at Plato Public School, IP Extension, Delhi, on Tuesday, 15 October 2024.
Inter-School Science Competition, Mind Spark-प्रकृति 2024
Eight students of SPS MV from classes VI to XI participated in the Inter-School Science Competition, ‘MIND SPARK-प्रकृति 2024’, held on Friday, 19 October 2024 at Salwan Public School, Gurugram. The students were accompanied by Smt. Ahanthem Romita, TGT Science. Two students, Bhavya Singh and Gauri Bhardwaj of class IX, created and presented a game on the theme ‘Water Warriors: From River to Riches’. They secured first place in the Eco Game Innovators category.
