SPS MV organised an educational trip to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at Mausam Bhawan, Delhi on Monday, 21 October 2024 for students of class XII. Two teachers-Smt. Seema Nagpal, PGT Physics, and Sh. Deepak, Lab Assistant, along with 40 students from classes XII were a part of the visit. The day began with a demonstration of the Doppler Radar, which surveys weather patterns and forecasts. This was followed by a tour of the Hydrology Division, where students learned about the measurement of temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind speed, and wind direction in both manual and automated observatories. Next, the students visited the SatMet Division, where they gained insights into weather satellites and the retrieval and analysis of satellite images for weather prediction. Lastly, the group visited the EMRC Division and learned about the measurement of pollutants and their aftereffects.
