Student Training & License Activations of Adobe Express

Salwan Public School, TDSC, recently conducted a comprehensive training program for classes IV-XII students, focusing on developing digital creative skills using Adobe Express. It included various activities, from AI-powered image generation and poster and reel making to photograph editing.  The workshop was organised to inculcate the essential digital creative skills of future-ready students to ensure their participation in real-world applications. The Adobe Express training program successfully empowered our students with in-demand digital creative skills.

HELP Sessions

Honouring India’s deep-rooted cultural heritage, an exclusive craft exhibition, ‘Hunar Mela’ was organised on Friday, 16 August 2024. The event aimed at promoting art, culture, and heritage. Weaving tales of tradition, craftsmanship, and artistic ingenuity, a wide array of exquisite handcrafted products were displayed and up for sale.

 The Hunar Mela’s ‘History Through Sources’ exhibition was a captivating journey through India’s past. Blending ancient artifacts with modern technology, it offered a comprehensive and engaging experience. Interactive kiosks and knowledgeable student volunteers enhanced the visitor’s understanding of different historical eras and themes.  The display of artifacts, including coins belonging to different eras of history and the prototype of the Indian Flag, Tiranga, served as a vivid Journey to the past.

Independence Day Celebration

Salwan Public School, TDSC, celebrated Independence Day on Thursday, 15 August 2024, accomplished with the great participation of the students and parents through the Har Ghar Tiranga selfies and an ecstatic school ceremony on the occasion of Independence Day. Concluding with a gigantic success, the event showcased the patriotic fervour of the students and enthusiastic rendering of extremely significant episodes in the freedom struggle. The event was also special as the parents and the school staff also wholeheartedly poured their love for the nation through their photographs. The students of Salwan Public School, TDSC, created history on 15th of August by pooling in innumerable selfies with the national flag, Tiranga. Among the numerous responses, every selfie told a unique story of love for the nation and the National flag.

Inter-house Folk Dance Competition

The students of Salwan Public School, TDSC, celebrated India’s rich cultural heritage through vibrant performances. From Punjab’s Gidda Bhangra by Amartya Sen House to Andhra’s Lambadi by C.V. Raman House, Gujarat’s Garba Dandiya by R.N. Tagore House, and Haryana’s Khoria by Mother Teresa  House, each dance lit up the stage. Among the array of award-winning performances by each team, the winning cup was lifted by Mother Teresa House. Judged by the talented Anurag Khichi, dancer and choreographer, the event was a great success.

One-Day Workshop: Developing Mathematical Thinking for Mathematics Teaching and Learning

Mathematics teacher, Mr. Gautam Tyagi attended a Professional Development Workshop on ‘Developing Mathematical Thinking for Mathematics Teaching and Learning’, conducted at Poorna Prajna Public School, on Saturday, 17 August 2024. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Jonaki B Ghosh, Associate Professor, Department of Elementary Education, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi. The event aimed to enhance the mathematical and computational thinking skills of mathematics teachers responsible for teaching grades VI to X. The primary focus of the workshop was to shift the emphasis in mathematics education from mere memorization of procedures to a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts through conjecturing, meaningful problem solving, and developing mathematical reasoning.

Micro-greens Training Session

On Wednesday, 14 August 2024, a training session on Microgreens was conducted by Salwan Public School, TDSC, featuring two esteemed resource persons, Mr. Suchit, the co-founder of Organic Microgreens, and Ms. Anshu, a renowned nutritionist. The session was aimed at educating the attendees on the cultivation and dietary benefits of microgreens, as well as their role in promoting a sustainable future. While Mr. Suchit, with his extensive experience in organic farming, provided an insightful overview of microgreens, Ms. Anshu took the stage to discuss the nutritional benefits of incorporating microgreens into one’s diet. She explained that microgreens are nutrient-dense, often containing higher levels of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants compared to their mature counterparts.

Desh Aur Hum 3.0: Grand Orientation Session at Doon Public School, Dehradun

Continuing the successful collaboration between the National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT) and the Salwan Education Trust over the past three years, NADT remains steadfast in its mission to cultivate a transparent and robust tax system. This partnership has consistently strived to educate and engage citizens in the vital processes that sustain and build our nation.

In alignment with this vision, NADT is conducting the ‘Desh Aur Hum 3.0’ program across India, a series of impactful online events and competitions centered on the theme ‘Sachet Bharat, Samridh Bharat—Empowering Nation Building,’ in collaboration with the Salwan Education Trust. As a part of this nationwide series, an orientation session was successfully held at Doon Public School, Dehradun, on Friday, 09 August 2024. The event saw an overwhelming participation of 1000 students from 85 schools, all eager to contribute to this significant cause.

National Space Day

The theme for the year 2024 for National Space Day is ‘Touching Lives while Touching the Moon: India’s Space Saga’. This theme reflects the transformative impact of India’s space exploration on society, highlighting the nation’s journey from curiosity to active participation in the cosmos. The day is not just about celebrating past achievements but also to inspire future generations and emphasise the societal benefits of space technology. To create awareness about space science and technologies, a Quiz competition was conducted on Friday, 23 August 2024 for classes IX and X.

Raksha Sutra

On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the students from the primary wing visited the local police station to express their gratitude and respect towards the police officers by tying Raksha Sutra on their wrists. This heartfelt gesture was aimed at acknowledging the relentless service and protection provided by the officers to the community.

 The event began with a warm welcome by the police officers, who appreciated the initiative taken by the students and the school. The children tied the sacred thread on the wrists of the officers, symbolizing the bond of protection and trust between the community and the police force. The officers, in turn, blessed the children and assured them of their continued commitment to ensuring safety and security.

 The event concluded with a group photograph, followed by a small interaction where the officers shared insights into their duties and responsibilities, inspiring the children to contribute positively to society. The visit not only strengthened the bond between the students and the police officers but also instilled a sense of respect and admiration for the law enforcement personnel among the young minds.

Achievement

Parv Jain of Salwan Public School, TDSC, made the school proud with his exceptional achievement in securing his rank in Vikram Sarabhai Science Foundation NATIONAL SPOT100GENII as the TOP 100 Young Science Talents in India.

Janpad Stariya Vigyan Sangoshthi

In the competition held at Government Inter College, Nandgram, a student of Salwan Public School, TDSC, Aakriti Bindal of class IX A delivered a presentation on ‘Artificial Intelligence: Its Potential and Concerns’. She discussed how Artificial Intelligence plays an important role in our lives, professional sectors, health care, and other sectors. She also charted its future possibilities and the related concerns.

Visit to Humayun Tomb

On 17 August 2024, the Heritage Club of Salwan Public School TDSC, Ghaziabad, embarked on a fascinating heritage walk to Humayun’s Tomb, one of Delhi’s most iconic historical landmarks. This educational excursion was organized in collaboration with Tales of City, a renowned organization dedicated to heritage walks and cultural tours, and was guided by the expert Ms. Lehar Zaidi, a distinguished historian and cultural enthusiast. The walk was designed to immerse students in the rich history and architectural splendour of Humayun’s Tomb, which stands as a prime example of Mughal architecture in India. The students were eager to explore the site, and Ms. Zaidi’s expertise brought the history and significance of the monument to life.

Talk Show

On the occasion of Independence Day, the students of Class 1 and 2 participated in a patriotic activity, paying tribute to the nation’s freedom fighters. The young learners dressed up as iconic figures such as Rani Laxmi Bai, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Netaji, and Savitribai Phule, among others.

 With great enthusiasm, each student delivered a short speech in Hindi or English, sharing the contributions and legacy of their chosen freedom fighter. They also memorized and recited powerful slogans quoted by these national heroes, filling the atmosphere with patriotism and fervour. The program was a resounding success, with all students playing their roles exceptionally well and explaining the significance of these freedom fighters. The activity aimed to instil a sense of national pride and appreciation for the sacrifices made by these heroes in India’s freedom journey.

The celebration was a testament to the spirit and legacy of the freedom fighters, inspiring the young minds to emulate their courage and dedication to the nation. The event concluded with a sense of pride and gratitude, honouring the brave men and women who shaped India’s history.

Heritage Quiz

The Inter-House Heritage Quiz, held on 08 August 2024, was an engaging and educational competition for students of classes 3 to 5. The event aimed to test students’ knowledge of heritage, culture, and geography through a series of rounds. Each house, comprising three students from classes 3 to 5, competed in four distinct rounds: Visual Round, Picture Round, Map Round, Rapid Fire Round. Mother Teresa House bagged the first place and the second position holder was C V Raman House.

Abhivyakti

On Friday, 09 August 2024, students from Classes II, III and IV participated in the Abhivyakti Bhavo ki inter school competition held at Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar. The competition featured various competitions that allowed students to showcase their creativity, cultural knowledge, and oratory skills. Kavita Vachan was organised for class II on the topic  ऐसा देश है मेरा and for class III, patrachitraakan was organised on

रामायण/महाभारत के पात्र and for class IV, Doha gayan was organised on the topic कबीर/रहीम/तुलसीदास के दोहे

 Achievements include: Keshav (IV B)  won the Doha Gayan competition, securing 1st Position and Nehal (III A) secured 1st position in Charitrankankan competition.
