Keeping up with the educational requirements, Salwan Public School, Gurugram organised an International Exchange Programme with The Feng Yuan High School of Taiwan in session 2023-23. The exchange was conducted in various phases beginning with mutually deciding the theme and plan of action of the projects by the students of both the schools. The exchange took place through mails and online interaction. After a few brainstorming sessions, ‘Environment-Invest in our Planet’ was the theme decided for discussion and further action. Four projects related to the theme were undertaken. Pupils collaborated in compact teams of eight. Each group’s aims and indicators were listed separately. They collaborated and used projects and PowerPoint presentations to put their lessons into practice.
After a number of online sessions, the culmination session was conducted on April 21, 2023 where in each group of both the schools presented their work through power point presentations and had questionnaire rounds to understand the concept better. The Taiwanese spoke about sustainable development objectives and displayed movies demonstrating how waste is disposed of in their nation. They shared their ideas for creating things that could be recycled and used again, such as pinball machines and plastic plants that utilise tampons. The students from India also contributed their ideas of papier-mâché coasters, bookcases, vertical gardens, planters, and paintings by Madhubani and Warli.
Overall, the students had a great time learning a lot about how they can help protect the environment.
The Exchange Programme offered an additional chance to view the globe, gain a new viewpoint, and feel another culture while in school.
