SPS Rajendra Nagar has established the School Innovation Council (SIC202116040) as per the guidelines of Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education, Government of India. The school has been awarded a certificate for the same by the Ministry of Education during the academic year 2022-23.
‘School Innovation Council’ is a novel initiative to systematically handhold schools in establishing ideation, innovation, and entrepreneurial ecosystem in a sustainable manner. This initiative was launched on 1st July 2022 by the Hon’ble Secretary, Department of School Education, MoE, the Chairperson, Central Board of Secondary Education, and the Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education. The programme is inspired by the New Education Policy which lays huge emphasis on promoting out-of-the-box thinking amongst students.
Inauguration of Innovation Lab at SPS Ghaziabad
Salwan Public School, Ghaziabad strengthened its infrastructure by inaugurating newly constructed state of art Innovation Lab loaded with advanced technology and equipment. The lab is a dedicated workspace for students to learn, experiment and develop their ideas into prototypes with equipment like laser cutting machines, 3D Printers, Arduino kits and much more.
The Inauguration Ceremony was held on Saturday 1st October 2022 in which dignitaries, Shri Shiv Dutt Salwan Chairman Emeritus, Shri Sushil Dutt Salwan, Chairman Salwan Education Trust, Prof. Neeraj Chandra, Chairman (SPS TDSC), Shri Paramjit Khanna, Secretary Salwan Education Trust, Shri Bharat Salhotra and Shri Vinay Mittal MC Members, Ms. Puneet Sardana Ji Principal Salwan Girls School graced the occasion.
Speaking on the launch, the chairman SET said “This lab will give space to innovators to give shape to their ideas. Along with entrepreneurial thinking, this lab will also help students learn collaboration, so they can adopt a holistic approach to build sustainable solutions.” He also focused on fit and healthy lifestyle and urged the children not to be the slaves of technology.
