As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.                                                   – John F. Kennedy

To commemorate the 120th birth anniversary of our revered founder Pt. Girdhari Lal Salwan Ji, Founder’s Day was celebrated at SPS Rajendra Nagar on 5th December 2022 with great fervour and enthusiasm. Pt. Girdhari Lal Salwan was a visionary and philanthropist who valued the importance of education for a progressive society. The day also marked 81 years of the establishment of Salwan Education Trust.

Sri Akhand Path Sahib marked the commencement of the grand event. The students were apprised of the significance of Guru Granth Sahib Ji and Sikhism through an informative powerpoint presentation. The motivating life journey of our revered founder was also  shared with the students through an illuminating video.

The highlight of the event was the ‘Shabad kirtan’  by the famous ragi Bhai Chamanjit Singh ji Lal. Students also presented melodious musical renditions to compliment the programme. The verses inspired everyone to follow the path of honesty, unity, truth and bravery. The bhajans reiterated that we must follow the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji  as well as live a life of truth and high moral standards.

A serene and calm atmosphere was maintained in the pandal  where the audience with their covered heads listened to the soulful musical renditions and chanted them along. The spiritual ambience of devotional ‘Bhajans’ and ‘Ardas’ sparked a religious fervour in the air.

The programme was attended by Sh Shivdutt Salwan, Chairman Emeritus Salwan Education Trust, Sh Sushil Dutt Salwan, Chairman, Salwan Education Trust, Trustees, Members of the Managing Committee and Heads of  Schools under the aegis of SET. Students from campus schools also witnessed this auspicious event. To  conclude the celebration on a joyful  note, the divine ‘Kada Prasad’ and ‘Langar’ were served.
